Vera Bolaños is a Guatemalan writer, visual artist specializing in illustration and watercolors. She is the author of fourteen books including essays, novels, poetry, short stories, and six children's books in Spanish, English and Mayan languages. She is the winner of the Marilena López Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature 2018, which was awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Sports. She teaches creative writing and literature classes for adults and children and youth. Vera is the author of a forthcoming book in the Vista Tranquila Publishers, LLC Guatemala Series.
